Project description

Starting from the coastal condition of the former industrial area on the banks of Ibaizabal we create a public space between maritime park and plaza that affects the character of port city and connect the city with the River. We draw an analogy maritime in Abandoibarra interventions and suggest a mediation between the garden and the bay. From the beached whale of Gehry, Soriano steel boat, the lighthouse future Pelli and bundles of Moneo. The coastal topography of the renovated area emphasizes the role of the estuary in the changing urban environment and will not be arbitrary but depending on the conditions of the site boundary and the existing ondulations in the ground.

Partiendo de la condición costera de la antigua zona industrial a orillas de Ibaizabal creamos un espacio público entre parque y plaza marítima que incida en el carácter de ciudad portuaria y conecte la ciudad con la Ría. Extraemos una analogía marítima en las intervenciones de Abandoibarra y sugerimos una mediación entre el jardín y la bahía. Desde la ballena varada de Gehry, el barco de acero del Soriano, el futuro faro de Pelli y los bloques de Moneo. La topografía costera de la renovada zona enfatiza el papel de la Ría en la constante evolución del entorno urbano y no será arbitraria sino que su sistema de estrías dependerá de las condiciones de contorno del solar y de las ondulaciones preexistentes en el terreno.
