Belén Butragueño Díaz-Guerra (Madrid, 1977) is Architect at ETSA of Madrid (Polytechnic University) since 2002 graduated with Honours and has finished her studies of Doctorate in this University in the Department of Architectonic Projects, where she is developing her PhD Thesis under the direction on Juan Herreros and Juan A. Cortés.

At present time,she is Professor of Drawing and Analysis at ETSA of Madrid since 2007 and has been Professor of Projects and Analysis at SEK University in Segovia from 2003 to 2007. She has also been Coordinator of the Chair H+A of Architectural Concrete, directed by Prof. Alfonso del Aguila, with whom in addition she had coordinated the Technical Days on New Constructive Systems and the development of the Pladur Competition at ETSAM.

She began her professional activity as collaborator in diverse Offices of recognized prestige, among which stands out the Dutch Office MVRDV in Rotterdam, where she developed the Goya-Leonardo Scholarship, Soriano- Palacios Architects and Sancho-Madridejos Architects. Later on she co-founded the Office BeLuMen, that took part in multiple competitions and projects related to a new conception of the public contemporary space.

At the present time she is working on the configuration of a space of creation called B2bConcept, that pretends to be a laboratory of experimental architecture, very in touch with other artistic and scientific disciplines, in which the creative labour is based on the research of the fields of opportunity that are opened in the contemporary world. In this sense, she participates in different research groups in urban planning and developing of degraded areas such as "Repensar Cañada" that addresses the problem of the degradation-of-rural roads occupied by people living in unsanitary conditions and without social services.

Several of the Urban Projects developed by B2bconcept have been spread through Magazines such as "Vía Arquitectura", "Pasajes de Arquitectura", "CSCAE", "Arquitectos de Madrid" (magazine of the Official College of Architecture of Madrid), "Detail", the Digital Magazine ARCHFARM. or "Piedra de Toque".

Her work has been chosen to participate as an author in several Congresses such as the 44th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ISOCARP " Urban Growth without Dispersion " (Dalian, China. September 2008), Architects Congress Of Spain 2009 (Valencia, Spain. June 2009), Congress IV Projetar 2009 (Brasil, October 2009) and 5º Congress of Creativity and Innovation 2009 (Cáceres, Spain. November 2009). She has also given several Lectures and participated in Master Classes such as II and III Edition of the Master of Building and Digital Home, University of Castilla la Mancha, since 2008 and the III Master in Multimedia and Digital Communication in the Architecture Project, at the ETSAM in 2010
She has recently participated in the 2010 "Noche en Blanco" edition, with the project "Plan Esqueje". On the other hand, her Office ha been included in the FRESH program designed to promote the work of emerging young architects in Madrid in 2009

Among her most outstanding projects highlights the Renovation and Regeneration of the historic centre of Chipiona, Cádiz, in collaboration with Dintra5 Engineers and the Netherlander group MVRDV, the First Prize won at the "Disonancias, art for innovation" Competition in Bilbao, with Carmen Paz and Diego Soroa and her participation in the Workshop "Light, space and perception" at Medialab Prado with the Project "Medianeras Vivas" that was also awarded with a Special Jury Mention in the "Eperiencia-Futuros" Competition, promoted during the Congress of Architects of Spain 2009.

Belén Butragueño Díaz-Guerra (Madrid, 1977) es Arquitecta por la ETSA de Madrid desde el año 2002 obteniendo la calificación de Sobresaliente en el Proyecto Fin de Carrera y ha terminado sus estudios de Doctorado en dicha Universidad en el Departamento de Proyectos Arquitectónicos, donde está desarrollando su Tesis Doctoral bajo la dirección de Juan Herreros y Juan A. Cortés.

En la actualidad es Profesora de Dibujo, Análisis e Ideación en la ETSA de Madrid desde 2007 y ha sido Profesora de Proyectos Arquitectos y Análisis en la Universidad SEK de Segovia desde 2003 a 2007. Ha sido Coordinadora de la Cátedra "H+A de Hormigón Arquitectónico", dirigida por el Prof. Alfonso del Águila, con quien además ha coordinado las Jornadas Técnicas sobre Nuevos Sistemas Constructivos y el desarrollo del Concurso Pladur en la ETSAM.

Comenzó su actividad profesional como colaboradora en diversos estudios de reconocido prestigio, entre los que destaca el estudio holandés MVRDV en Rótterdam, trabajo al que accedió a través de las Becas Goya-Leonardo, el Estudio de Arquitectura Soriano-Palacios o e Estudio Sancho-Madridejos. Posteriormente fundó BeLuMen,, estudio que participó en múltiples concursos y proyectos relacionados con una nueva concepción del espacio público contemporáneo.

En la actualidad trabaja en la configuración de un espacio de creación llamado B2bConcept, que pretende ser un laboratorio de arquitectura experimental, muy en contacto con otras disciplinas artísticas y científicas, en el que la labor creativa se base en la investigación de los campos de oportunidad que se abren en el mundo contemporáneo. En este sentido, el estudio participa en varios grupos de investigación sobre el espacio urbano y el desarrollo de zonas degradadas como el grupo "Repensar la Cañada", que aborda el problema de la degradación de las vías pecuarias ocupadas por habitantes que viven en condiciones insalubres y sin servicio social alguno.

Varios de los Proyectos Urbanos desarrollados por B2bconcept han sido difundidos a través de Revistas como "Vía Arquitectura", "Pasajes de Arquitectura", "CSCAE", "Arquitectos de Madrid" (Revista del Colegio Oficial de Arquitectura de Madrid), "Detail", Archfarm Revista Digital. O "Piedra de Toque".

Su trabajo ha sido seleccionado para participar en varios Congresos como el 44 º CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL ISOCARP "Crecimiento Urbano sin Dispersión" (Dalian, China. Sept. 2008), Congreso de Arquitectos de España 2009 (Valencia, España. Junio 2009), Congreso IV Projetar 2009 (Brasil, Oct. 2009) y V Congreso de Creatividad e Innovación 2009 (Cáceres. Nov. 2009). También ha impartido Conferencias y participado en Clases de Master como la II y III Edición del Master de Edificación y Hogar Digital de la Universidad de Castilla la Mancha, desde 2008 y en el III Master en Comunicación Digital y Multimedia del Proyecto de Arquitectura, en la ETSAM en 2010.

Recientemente ha participado en la Edición de 2010 de la Noche en Blanco con el proyecto Plan Esqueje. Por otra parte, su estudio ha sido incluido en el programa FRESH destinado a promover la labor de jóvenes arquitectos emergentes de Madrid en 2009.

Dentro de sus proyectos más relevantes destacan Proyecto de Remodelación y regeneración del centro histórico y paseo marítimo de Chipiona, Cádiz; en colaboración con Dintra5 Ingenieros y el equipo MVRDV, el Primer Premio en el Concurso "DISONANCIAS, arte para la innovación", junto con Carmen Paz y Diego Soroa en Bilbao o su participación en el Taller "Luz, espacio y percepción" en Medialab Prado con el Proyecto "Medianeras Vivas" , que fue premiado con una Mención Especial del Jurado en el Concurso "Eperiencia-Futuros" promovido con motivo del Congreso de Arquitectos de España 2009.
