Extraordinary Doctorate Award 2015-2016, ETSAM, UPM

I’ve been honored with the Extraordinary Doctorate Award!!

The development of a doctoral thesis is a project that leaves an imprint on the person who begins that journey, and also on everyone who walks along. It is usually such a long-term process that it happens while your life changes. Even though it is a joint achievement, there is a part of the process that is done in complete solitude (or in my case, we two toddlers around). In that moment, it is easy to feel that you are losing track or that it makes no sense. But, if you persevere, the result will bring you unstoppable joy. In my case, the biggest satisfaction was to meet Rem Koolhaas in person, as he is the mail character of this story. But it was also huge to be honored with the Extraordinary Doctorate Award at ETSAM, UPM! That School is and Will be my home… It is where I became an architect, then a teacher and now a doctor. The fact that they acknowledge my work makes me feel even prouder. Thank you!
