Belén Butragueño

PhD in Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, ETS of Architecture (2015, International Mention, Degree with Honours), Diploma in Architecture (Professional MArch Degree) at the same University (2002, Outstanding). Her thesis has been honored with the Extraordinary Doctorate Award at ETSAM, UPM, 2015-16. Associate Professor at Graphic Architectural Ideation Department, ETSAM, UPM, since 2007 and at IE Architecture (Segovia) since 2003. Her main research lines are the analysis of the different processes of communication and expression in Architecture with special attention to the insertion of new technologies, the research on the Architecture’s publications and their graphic construct and teaching of the drawing in the field of the teaching of the architecture. She is author of various educational books, communication in international congresses and articles related to her lines of research, that have been published in prestigious international journals and magazines.

In the last years, she has put a special effort in the International  field, with collaborations with Universities across the world, specially in UK and California, USA.

As a professor, she has obtained credentials as PhD Assistant Professor, PhD University Lecturer and PhD Private University Professor, granted by ANECA.

She began her professional activity at MVRDV Office (Rotterdam, 2002), through a Leonardo European Grant. She has collaborated with different prestigious architectural offices such as SMAO, PO2 or Soriano and partners. Since 2007 she works in the configuration of think tank called B2bConcept, that tends to be a laboratory of experimental architecture and urban space, very  in touch with other artistic and scientific disciplines, in which the creative work is based on research in the fields of opportunity that are opened in the contemporary world.
